Credits

Murcia.chat is an independent, unofficial, non-profit project. Crests, logos and images are shown only to identify who or what is being talked about, with their author and licence. Some club crests are not under a free licence: they are used with attribution and no commercial use. Their use here does not imply that their owners endorse Murcia.chat. If you own any of them and would rather it didn’t appear, write to us.

Images of notable people

Photos of the people and groups in the notable people guide come from two places, and each carries its credit and a link to the page it comes from. Some are freely licensed photos from Wikimedia Commons, with their author and licence. The others are material that the person or their team publish to promote themselves: their website or link page, their press kit, the page of their label, agency or publisher, that of a festival or venue where they perform, or the public image of their artist profile on Spotify or Bandcamp. Those are stored reduced, uncropped, as “promotional image, provided for press/promotion”. We don’t use photos from newspapers, paparazzi, fans or stock libraries, and we take nothing from Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook or YouTube. Anyone without such an image appears with their initials.

If it’s your photo or we talk about you and you’d prefer another image, want to correct something or not to appear, ask us to change or remove it.

Places, shops and services

The places on the map (bars, shops, hairdressers, garages, gyms…) combine three open databases. Each card says which ones it comes from.

  • OpenStreetMap: © OpenStreetMap contributors, Open Database License 1.0 (ODbL). Names, positions, categories and opening hours. The places database resulting from combining it with the others is shared under the same licence.
  • Overture Maps Foundation, Places theme: Community Data License Agreement – Permissive 2.0 (CDLA Permissive 2.0), with data from Meta, Microsoft, PinMeTo and DAC; data from AllThePlaces is CC0 and from Foursquare, Apache 2.0. Shops and services that are not in OpenStreetMap, and phone numbers, websites and social media for those that are.
  • Foursquare Open Source Places: Apache 2.0 licence. Foursquare notice (NOTICE): «© 2025 Foursquare Labs, Inc. All rights reserved. The Foursquare OS Places dataset (the “Data”) is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0.» Murcia.chat has modified the data: only places in the municipality of Murcia, mapped to its categories and combined with OpenStreetMap and Overture.

Second-hand cars

Car listings come from coches.net: we show a sample with the photo (loaded from their website), the price and a few details, and each one links to its listing, which is where you buy. Descriptions and phone numbers are not copied. Car dealers on the map come from OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps.

Animals for adoption

Photos and details of the dogs and cats for adoption belong to each shelter: they are shown linked from their website (not copied), with the name, a few details and the link to the animal’s profile, which is where you adopt. If a shelter prefers not to appear, it is removed.

Walking and cycling routes

  • OpenStreetMap: © OpenStreetMap contributors, Open Database License 1.0 (ODbL). The tracks, names and waymarks of the routes (PR-MU, SL-MU, GR, Vías Amables, greenways…), and the paths along which we trace a few well-known walks, come from Geofabrik’s Region of Murcia extract. The route database we build with them (distances, start, nearest stop) is shared under the same licence.
  • Copernicus DEM GLO-30: elevation gain and height profile when the route doesn’t include them in OpenStreetMap (approximate). «Copernicus DEM © DLR e.V. 2010-2014 and © Airbus Defence and Space GmbH 2014-2018 provided under COPERNICUS by the European Union and ESA; all rights reserved».
  • Wikiloc: only a link to their website, where people upload routes; we neither read nor copy anything from Wikiloc. Logo from Wikimedia Commons (Ruben0568, CC BY-SA 4.0), a trademark of its owner, used only to identify the link.
  • Google Maps, Google Calendar and Apple Maps: only links to see directions or save a date; we request nothing from them. Icons from Wikimedia Commons: Google Maps icon (2020) (Google; SVG by Premeditated; public domain), Google Calendar icon (2020) (Google; public domain) and Apple Maps (watchOS) (Apple; original by Tristan Surtel, vector by Arlo Barnes; public domain). They are trademarks of their owners and are used only to show which app the link opens.
  • Social network logos (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, Twitch, Bluesky, Threads, Spotify and LinkedIn), from Wikimedia Commons: trademarks of their owners, used only to show which network each link goes to. Images of notable people: the Wikidata image (Wikimedia Commons), with author and licence on each photo; if there isn’t one, the image or logo from their official website, reproduced from that website and linking to it (removed if the owner asks). Never from Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook or YouTube; without an image, their initials.
  • Train, bus and ticket logos in the timetables: Renfe AVE (2026) and Renfe Avlo (Renfe; public domain), ALSA (see crests and logos) and OMIO blue (Omio; public domain), from Wikimedia Commons. They are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the train, the company or the ticket website. The Omio link goes to its normal route page, with no affiliate.

Murcia then and now

Every old and current photo carries its author, archive, licence and a link to the original. Some come from archives that publish no open licence: they are used with attribution, under murcia.chat’s responsibility. If you hold the rights to a photo and would rather it did not appear, ask us to remove it and we will.
