1.Plaza de las Flores, Santa Catalina and San Pedro
Tapas, terraces and early-evening drinks
Three pedestrian squares in a row in the old town, with terraces and bars. It is the area most associated with tapas and tardeo (afternoon-into-evening drinks); at night the action moves towards Santo Domingo and the Romea theatre.

2.La Merced and Alfonso X (university area)
Student bars and early-evening drinks
The area around the La Merced campus: Plaza de la Universidad, Enrique Villar and Merced streets and, to the west, Avenida Alfonso X el Sabio. Bars with a university atmosphere and, towards Alfonso X, a few pubs playing 80s and indie music.

3.Las Tascas: Santa Eulalia, San Lorenzo and the bullring
Tascas (taverns), pubs and small venues
Narrow streets between Santa Eulalia, San Lorenzo and Calle Victorio, with lots of tascas, small pubs and small concert venues; next to the bullring there are also clubs.

4.Zig Zag leisure centre (Avenida Juan Carlos I)
Bars, pubs and restaurants in one complex
Open-air leisure complex on Avenida Juan Carlos I, with bars, restaurants and pubs around a courtyard; some host live music and sports screenings.

An area of warehouses next to the shopping centre, east of the city, with large nightclubs, mainly Latin and electronic music.
